Cubs scouting their own loss?

Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times has said that the Cubs may have actually gained something out of a loss last night, as they were keeping a close eye on Blue Jays starter AJ Burnett. Burnett is due $12MM a year through 2010, and the Jays will most likely be shopping him hard. There's probably better deals to be made by the Cubs for that price, but they wouldn't have to give up as many prospects.
