After an inside pitch hit Soriano in Wednesday night's game against the Braves., an X-Ray showed a broken bone in his left hand. This is a huge hit for the Cubs, as they lose not only their leadoff man and left fielder, but their homerun leader and a guy with 40 rbi's early in this season. This was not an intentional beaning; Soriano was down in the count and the pitch simply got away from Jeff Bennett. Soriano's expected to be out for 6 weeks. This really hurts the Cubs chances of moving way up on the NL-C while Albert Pujols is out, as Soriano's expected time off is twice as long. A speedy recovery is wished and prayed for Soriano, a typically quick healer.
