Early today, Scott Eyre was DFA'd in order to make room for Kerry Wood. Eyre may be a waiver-wire deal, as he drew interest from several teams in the last week before the trade deadline.
In Wood's return, he pitched a scoreless 8th inning today, giving up one hit, no walks and no K's. I suspect he'll be closing again asap.
